I've been planning to add some additional information here for a while, but I can't seem to find time.  For now, I thought readers might find the following interesting!

25 completely random things about myself

1. I’ve wanted to be a writer since I was six years old.
2. I’m now a published author.
3. I can juggle and ride a unicycle. I used to ride my unicycle in parades when I was young. :) And believe it or not, I once won a bike-a-thon on the unicycle! First place for raising the most money even if it did take me longer to finish the ten miles than most people, who were on bikes... yes, I've always been determined.
4. A lot of people don't like teens, but I absolutely adore my daughter, who will be 13 in a few weeks. Also, Chris and I have fostered over 50 kids, most of them teens who were pregnant or with babies.
5. Chris and I have five children.
6. I enjoy nature so much. God’s creation never ceases to amaze me and it's wonderful how much nature blesses us - providing oxygen, shelter, beauty, food, and so much more.
7. I used to sing in competition – and actually win.
8. I used to draw a lot and once won a national contest for my artwork.
9. I would love to start drawing again.
10. The Lord audibly spoke to me once.
11. God has saved my life on at least three occasions that I know of.
12. When Daniel was two years old, he went into anaphylactic shock in a hotel room in the middle of the night. As I stood outside waiting for the ambulance to arrive, I was screaming to God and begging Him to spare my child, who was no longer breathing. When the paramedics arrived, it took about 10 minutes to get Daniel conscious again. When Daniel teetered between life and death, those were the most difficult moments of my life. I’ve never experienced the kind of fear that I had that night and I pray that I never experience it again.
13. The best time I've ever had in my life was the six weeks I spent traveling out west with the children last summer. I plan to make another long trip out west when my new book is released.
14. After Hannah was born, I was told that I most likely would not live long enough to get out of the hospital.
15. I absolutely LOVE children and would like it if we could have dozens more.
16. I really HATE to cook!
17. My favorite books are juvenile nonfiction, especially biographies.
18. It’s my goal to write children’s books one day, but I’m quite happy waiting for the Lord’s leading in this.
19. When I have a little free time, I really enjoy playing Legos with my children.
20. We don’t have cable t.v. or satellite, but we can watch DVDs. This gives us the ability to choose family-friendly shows and watch at our leisure.
21. Chris and I have fostered about fifty children.
22. My hair is naturally curly.
23. I don’t have much patience with superficial people. They get on my nerves really badly!
24. I truly value each and every day as a gift.
25. I only have a handful of very close people whom I trust implicitly, but the Lord has blessed me with many, many friends and acquaintances who pray for me regularly, support me, encourage me, and help me when I need it the most.
