Hi there!  I'm so glad you could stop by.  I hope you’ll relax, enjoy your visit and stay a while…

There is no need to put on a mask or pretend you're something you're not.  I love meeting other homeschool moms - just as you are.  And I hope you'll enjoy learning more about me and my family, too!

I have a wonderful husband, Chris, and we have five children - ages 13, 12, 10, 8 and 6.  When people ask how long we've homeschooled, I normally tell them that Sarah is in ninth grade this year, but really, homeschooling starts when you bring that little one home from the hospital.  Even for parents who later choose to send their children to school, for those first few years the child learned how to talk, walk, say "please" and "thank you," speak softly in the library, and go to the potty ... all under the parents' tutelage.  That's homeschooling, my friends!

Many parents today are not technically homeschooling (based on the legal definition for their state), but they supplement public or private school with educational games, videos, and toys throughout the school year.  They are teaching their child at home when the child isn't in school.  (I've met numerous parents who actually decide to officially homeschool when they come to the realization that they, in fact, ARE the ones teaching their child anyway so they may as well do it full time.)

Whether you homeschool or not, you're welcome here.  I don't have all the answers.  I will never pretend that I do.  I do love talking with homeschool parents, people who are interested in homeschooling their children, or others who simply have questions about home education.  You're welcome to contact me and I'll respond as quickly as I can.  I love to speak to groups about education-related issues and parental rights, which are quickly being eroded.  Feel free to let me know if you need a speaker and I'll see if we can schedule a visit!

Homeschooling for Rest of Us

 

This is the cover of my new book.  It was shipped to distributors last week so if you preordered a copy, you should receive it soon and if you didn't, hopefully you'll consider ordering your own copy!  It's a very reasonable price - $9.99 the last time I looked on Christian Book Distributors.  If you can't afford that, ask your local library to order a copy.  They are usually happy to order homeschool books!!  We're very excited to hear what people think about the book.  It is my prayer that it will be a much needed encouragement and help for homeschool moms and dads!
